Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update brings back classic suits and more

A new update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now available for download on PlayStation 5. This update includes fresh content, additional accessibility options, and various game improvements, continuing Insomniac’s trend of enhancing the open-world superhero experience.

Upon installing the free update, players will have access to a wider selection of Spidey suits. This includes four classic costumes from the original Marvel’s Spider-Man game, along with bonus suits created in collaboration with Kid Super, Rina Sawayama, Vini Jr., and Lando Norris.

  • Four brand new collaboration suits

    • Metro (Miles Morales)
    • Ginga (Miles Morales)
    • Fluro (Peter Parker)
    • Motorchic (Peter Parker)

  • Four returning fan-favorite legacy suits

    • Into the Spider-Verse (Peter Parker)
    • Last Stand (Peter Parker)
    • Uptown Pride (Miles Morales)
    • Animated (Miles Morales)

  • Parry/Traversal Ability Swap

    • Players can now swap between Spider Arms and Symbiote abilities based on community feedback. These options can be found in the GAMEPLAY settings and include:

      • Default: unchanged from pre-patch settings
      • Symbiote: uses only symbiote arms for parry and traversal abilities
      • Spider Arms: uses only spider arms for parry and traversal abilities
      • Suit: Symbiote suits utilize symbiote-based abilities, while other suits use spider arms

ACCESSIBILITY ADDITIONS

  • Funky: Added Look At Waypoint support for the opening circuit box
  • Funky: Added an Activity Skip for the Spider-Bot section
  • Homecoming: Added Skip Puzzle for the tether puzzle

  • Fixed issue where entering Surge didn’t transform players into the Symbiote Suit in New Game+
  • Improved frequency of Symbiote finishers in New Game+
  • Fixed street sign display issue in the open world
  • Fixed Depth of Field (DoF) issue in Photo Mode
  • Fixed turbine launch issue in Brooklyn Heights Emily-May Foundation mission
  • Adjusted Spider logo positioning in Webbed Suit poses
  • Fixed dialogue playback issue in Mr. Negative boss fight
  • Resolved audio/dialogue issue in Hydra Bench minigame
  • Corrected text issue with “End of Night” prompt
  • Fixed background color inconsistency in Suits menu
  • Addressed misplaced objects and assets in the open world
  • Various stability improvements and bug fixes
