Biden Campaign Ad Calls Attention to Trump’s Felon Status

President Biden’s campaign has launched a new television advertisement aimed at branding former President Donald J. Trump as a felon. The ad highlights Trump’s criminal conviction and is part of a $50 million investment in battleground states for the month of June. Democrats have been pushing for Biden to be more aggressive in labeling Trump as a convicted criminal.

The ad’s narrator states, “We see Donald Trump for who he is. He’s been convicted of 34 felonies, found liable for sexual assault, and committed financial fraud.” The ad aims to solidify the choice for voters between Trump and Biden, especially those who may be undecided.

The narrator in the ad emphasizes, “This election is between a convicted criminal who is only out for himself and a president who is fighting for your family.” Since Trump’s trial ended, Democrats have been strategizing on how to leverage his criminal conviction in the campaign.

While Trump continues to deny his conviction, Biden has mostly avoided the topic. However, the upcoming debate between the two candidates is expected to highlight the choice between them.

A Trump campaign spokesman criticized Biden’s ads, accusing him of leading a coordinated attack against Trump. Despite Trump’s narrow leads in polls, there has been a slight shift towards Biden following the revelation of Trump’s conviction.
