G.Skill announces Trident Z5 DDR5-6600 32GB memory kits

As we approach the release of the first consumer desktop PC platforms that support DDR5 memory, there has been a surge in activity in this space. Just recently, G.Skill announced its DDR5-6600 CL36-36-36-76 32GB (2x16GB) memory kits, overshadowing Corsair’s DDR5-6400 RAM sticks that were teased earlier this year.

The new DDR5-6600 memory kits will be part of G.Skill’s Trident Z5 range. G.Skill claims that these kits are the world’s first DDR5 memory kits, offering extreme speed and low latency at DDR5-6600 CL36-36-36-76. This is in contrast to many competitors who ship DDR5 memory with CL40-40-40 timings and lower data transfer rates.

G.Skill follows its tradition of sourcing high-performance Samsung DDR5 ICs to create matched validated sets for its Trident Z5 DDR5-6600 32GB memory kits. The company believes that this meticulous process results in memory kits that are the ultimate choice for gamers, enthusiasts, and overclockers.

While G.Skill usually releases a product matrix table for its RAM kits, today’s announcement focuses solely on the Trident Z5 DDR5-6600 32GB memory kit. However, it does mention that there will also be a Trident Z5 RGB series with a translucent RGB light bar for smooth lighting, in addition to non-RGB LED models with a sleek piano black top bar.

Details regarding pricing and availability have not been disclosed yet. It is anticipated that there could be a premium of up to 50% for DDR5 memory compared to DDR4 memory of the same capacity, especially for premium offerings like those from G.Skill.
