Watch Tesla’s humanoid robot pulling some snappy dance moves

Tesla has unveiled a new video showcasing its Optimus humanoid robot displaying impressive dance moves. The video highlights the robot’s agility and lifelike range of motion, despite its intended industrial use.
Optimus, also known as the Tesla Bot, was trained in simulation using reinforcement learning for the dance routine. The latest third generation of the robot features enhancements such as a 22-degree-of-freedom hand, self-recharging capability, and advanced AI for task learning.
Elon Musk envisions thousands of these robots working alongside human staff in Tesla factories in the near future, handling dangerous and repetitive tasks. There are also plans for a commercial launch, with potential uses as household helpers or companions, although the $20,000 price tag may be a barrier for some.
The race to develop practical humanoid robots is heating up, with companies like Tesla, Figure AI, Apptronik, and Boston Dynamics competing against Chinese rivals to bring this technology to mass production. While challenges remain, the possibility of humanoid robots entering the workplace and everyday life on a large scale is becoming increasingly likely.
