Car Park Capital is a retro tycoon game in which you try to tarmac the world

Our video games have long been missing the excitement of cars and asphalt, with NPCs stuck in mundane town life. But fear not, Car Park Capital is coming to change all that. While we don’t have a release date yet, get ready to transform virtual countryside into a bustling world of parking lots. Check out the trailer below.

Car Park Capital is a satirical business strategy sim, reminiscent of Rollercoaster Tycoon, featuring a custom rendering engine. Your task is to pave over the last patches of greenery and fill the screen with orderly parking spaces, with the occasional pedestrian crossing for those still on foot.

To convince any stubborn townsfolk to embrace driving, use propaganda tactics like mind-control billboards with slogans such as “you love cars” and “eat smog you filthy little piggies”. Here are some key features from the Steam page:

Real-time simulation with a variety of vehicles and citizens.

Per-person behavior simulation, each person is unique (and bald).

Utilize propaganda to influence minds.

3D map editing for creative designs.

Expand and get rewarded as demand grows.

Elevators included!

Retro-styled graphics with a playful color palette.

Moddability for customization.

The gameplay mechanics remain unclear from the trailer, but imagine turning a thriving settlement into a maze of roads, causing endless commutes and gridlock. Developer Hilko Janssen, based in the Netherlands, is known for creative game jams like a fly escaping Pac Man.
