Dead by Daylight's next collabs include Five Nights at Freddy's and, for some reason, The Witcher

Dead by Daylight, the horror asymmetric multiplayer game, is gearing up to celebrate its ninth anniversary later this year. With the milestone approaching, developer Behaviour Interactive recently held a broadcast to mark the occasion. The broadcast revealed some exciting updates that are sure to pique the interest of fans.

The first big reveal is the introduction of Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy’s as a new killer in the game. This addition seems long overdue and is bound to generate a lot of excitement among players. The character will be portrayed by Matthew Lillard, who reprised his role from the film adaptation. More details about Springtrap’s abilities and release date will be shared in an upcoming livestream, but players can expect a legendary outfit inspired by the Yellow Rabbit version from the movie, as well as a map based on Freddy Fazbear’s restaurant.

In a surprising move, Dead by Daylight is also collaborating with The Witcher series. While players won’t be able to play as Geralt, they can look forward to new costumes inspired by characters like Yennefer, Ciri, Triss, and Eredin. This unexpected crossover adds an interesting twist to the game and opens up new possibilities for customization.

Apart from these collaborations, the game has a lineup of updates planned for the coming months. June will see a rework of The Archives and adjusted gamma settings, with additional updates scheduled to introduce features like increased spectator capacity in custom matches, map and key item rebalancing, and more.

Excitingly, a new chapter is set to arrive in 2026, giving players the opportunity to participate in a choose-your-own-adventure style activity to vote on various aspects of a new killer and survivor. With so much in store, there’s plenty to look forward to in Dead by Daylight’s ninth year anniversary and beyond.
