Angelcare And The Lullaby Trust Partner To Promote Safer Sleep

In a significant step toward promoting safer sleep for babies, trusted parenting brand Angelcare has joined forces with The Lullaby Trust, the UK’s leading authority on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) prevention. This partnership marks the official recognition of Angelcare’s AC25-1 Baby Movement Monitor, which The Lullaby Trust has recognised for meeting its high standards.

Supporting Parents Through Reassurance and Innovation

As baby monitors continue to grow in popularity, The Lullaby Trust has released a helpful factsheet outlining guidance for parents. While there’s currently no evidence that monitors can prevent SIDS, many parents find them reassuring, especially during nighttime sleep. In response to this need, Angelcare designed the AC25-1 Baby Movement Monitor to provide this peace of mind while still encouraging parents to follow safer sleep practices.

Helping Bereaved Families with Compassionate Care

For families who have experienced the devastating loss of a baby, welcoming another child can be emotionally complex. To help ease this journey, Angelcare is donating 250 AC25-1 Baby Movement Monitors to The Lullaby Trust’s Care of Next Infant (CONI) programme. This initiative not only provides emotional and practical assistance to bereaved families but also helps them feel more secure as they prepare for a new baby.

Medically Certified Monitoring Technology

The AC25-1 Baby Movement Monitor features medically certified infant movement monitoring technology, approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). As a result, this home-based device enhances safety without disrupting a baby’s natural sleep.

Contact-Free Sensor Pad

At the heart of the monitor is a wireless, contact-free Movement Sensor Pad, placed underneath the mattress. This advanced sensor tracks subtle movements across the entire mattress and sounds an alarm if it detects no movement for 20 seconds. Moreover, its wire-free design supports The Lullaby Trust’s clear cot policy, keeping the sleep space safe and uncluttered.

Secure and Convenient Monitoring

While The Lullaby Trust recommends room-sharing for the first six months, the AC25-1 Baby Movement Monitor provides extra reassurance if parents need to step away. The Parent Unit includes a 4.3” LCD screen, night vision, temperature monitoring, and push-button controls – no Wi-Fi required. Additionally, parents can use the two-way audio feature to comfort their baby from another room.

Modern Design with Practical Features

With over 25 years of experience in baby monitoring, Angelcare has refreshed its classic ‘Angel’ design with a modern look. Parents can wall-mount the Nursery Unit or place it on a tabletop. It also includes a soft-glow nightlight and four calming lullabies to soothe babies to sleep.

Educational Support for Parents

To further support parents, Angelcare offers free monthly webinars hosted by sleep nanny Emily Adams. These sessions provide guidance on sleep routines and emotional support for new parents. While The Lullaby Trust is not directly involved, their safe sleep advice is reflected throughout. Parents can register on Angelcare’s website or book now.
