Frontier has unveiled the roadmap for what’s to come in their latest theme park management game, Planet Coaster 2, for the months of May and June.

Update 5 is set to release on 29th May, bringing in fan-requested features such as security guards and expanded color customizations. The Sci-Fi theme will make a return, along with two de-themed coasters for increased customization options. Additionally, the Vector – Return Mk 2 coaster and maps from Act 3 of the career mode will be available in Sandbox mode.

Looking ahead to June, Update 6 will introduce Souvenir Shops and On-Ride Photos that will be available for purchase at these shops. The update will also include more stock coasters, the return of the Coriolis ride, and ongoing stability and performance improvements. Frontier has hinted at another returning theme, teasing that “It’s a real fairy tale come true.”

Planet Coaster 2 was launched towards the end of 2024, with Frontier opting for a fresh release to expand on their popular theme park game rather than relying on DLC and patches for feature additions. While the game initially faced criticism for a perceived lack of themes and features, as well as some technical issues, Frontier has been actively addressing these concerns through updates and enhancements.

In our review of Planet Coaster 2, Dom described it as “a vibe, a mood, and sunshine wrapped in a very bright bow.” Despite minor control issues, the game stands out as the top theme park builder with extensive customization options, detailed visuals, and the ability to immerse players for hours on end.
