Anker ‘s new Nebula X1 projector brings big wireless sound to backyard movie night

Nebula, the projector sub-brand of Anker, has introduced the Nebula X1 outdoor smart projector. This triple laser projector features a motorized gimbal-mounted lens with AI-driven auto image setup, a liquid cooling system, and built-in speakers that can be paired with optional wireless satellite speakers for a more immersive sound experience during movie nights in the backyard.

The Nebula X1, an evolution of Nebula’s Cosmos series, offers a 3,500 ANSI lumen laser light engine that can project a standard-throw 4K image up to 300 inches in size. It also has optical zoom capabilities, allowing for a 200-inch display from as close as 13 to 22 feet away. With its combination of brightness, resolution, and image size, the X1 is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, rivaling the specs of many home theater projectors.

The X1 utilizes an RGB laser image driven by Nebula’s new all-glass, 14-element lens and NebulaMaster Image Processing Engine, offering immersive and natural looking images with accurate color representation covering 110% of the Rec.2020 color space. The projector also supports Dolby Vision HDR for improved contrast and color depth.

To enhance performance and reduce noise levels, the X1 features an industry-first liquid cooling system that improves heat dissipation and overall size while maintaining quiet operation at 26 decibels. The projector also includes a new lens and plate with swiveling micro-gimbal technology for optimal placement and flexibility.

The X1 is equipped with side-firing speakers and passive bass radiators, providing 40 watts of total output. Additionally, Nebula offers compact wireless satellite speakers that can be bundled with the X1 or purchased separately for a more immersive audio experience. These speakers feature a total output of 160 watts and can create a 4.1.2 channel audio experience when paired with the projector.

The Nebula X1 features an AI-driven setup procedure, including real-time autofocus, keystone correction, obstacle avoidance, screen fit, optical zoom, ambient light adaptation, and wall color adaptation. This setup can be initiated with a single button push on the included remote control for hassle-free installation.

Running on the Google TV platform, the X1 offers access to various streaming services and includes Dolby Audio-capable speakers for a enhanced audio experience. The projector also supports external devices with two HDMI ports, including one eARC.

The Nebula X1 is priced at $2,999 and will be available on May 21 on the Nebula website and Amazon. A “backyard accessory pack” with wireless satellite speakers, a carrying case, and wireless microphones can be purchased for $999 or as a bundle with the X1 projector for $3,298 until June 20th in the U.S.
