Originally, the Elysion was released for the Japanese domestic market in 2004 to rival Toyota’s Alphard (another JDM vehicle), before branching out to China in 2012. Due to a lack of interest, the Elysion is no longer offered in Japan. In fact, it’s only available in China as a special collaboration with Dongfeng Motor Group.
