Miley Cyrus' brother Trace slams Katy Perry, says she copied his sister's career

Trace Cyrus has called out Katy Perry.

After the controversial space trip by the “Dark Horse” singer, the Metro Station artist criticized her for allegedly imitating his sister Miley Cyrus’ career.

“I first realized Katy Perry and her team were unoriginal when her career was on the decline,” he began in a lengthy Instagram post on Friday.

“And they were like, ‘Hm, what can we do? Well, what worked for Miley? She cut her hair off and it went viral, everyone went crazy, and she bleached it blond. We should do the same with you, Katy,'” he continued.

Miley had a pixie cut in 2012, while Perry debuted a similar hairstyle in 2017.

Trace also pointed out that Perry’s team tried to give her music a more “hip-hop” sound by collaborating with Migos on her song “Bon Appétit” – years after Miley did the same by working with Mike WiLL Made-It, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J on her “Bangerz” album in 2013.

“‘You’re now going to do the same stuff that Miley did and become popular,'” Trace continued, mocking an alleged conversation between Perry and her team. “Guess what? It didn’t work – and then they just tried some EDM song or something because EDM was trending.”

“It didn’t work, and now they’re sending you to space,” he added. “It’s not working. It’s backfiring.”

Page Six contacted both singers’ representatives but did not receive immediate responses.

Trace’s criticism comes after Perry faced backlash online for participating in Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s historic all-female Blue Origin space flight.

Since their flight on Monday, the singer has been criticized by brands and celebrities. Earlier this week, she was even trolled by Martha Stewart.

Stewart, 83, took to social media and shared a 2007 video of herself on a Boeing 727 called G-Force One. In the video, the lifestyle guru explained that she “experienced what astronauts feel when they reach zero gravity.”

“Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind?” she wrote over the clip, taking a dig at the opening lyrics of Perry’s 2010 hit “Firework.”

Stewart continued her shade in the caption, adding: “In case you spaced out in 2007, Martha has always been ahead of her time.”
