Barger’s ‘cannon’ helps Jays lower boom on Ms

TORONTO – Addison Barger’s powerful arm stole the show at Rogers Centre on Good Friday, adding excitement to the atmosphere.

The Toronto Blue Jays right-fielder delivered three key assists in the team’s 3-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners in front of a crowd of 40,263.

“What a cannon,” exclaimed Toronto manager John Schneider as he passed by reporters interviewing the game’s hero.

Barger’s three outfield assists matched a club record set decades ago and were crucial in securing the win for the Blue Jays.

His remarkable throws included stopping Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh from advancing to second, catching Randy Arozarena in a run down, and preventing former Blue Jay Rowdy Tellez from taking an extra base.

Barger’s throws reached impressive speeds of 159 km/h, 154.5 km/h, and 150.6 km/h, with the 159 km/h throw to nab Tellez being the fastest outfield throw in MLB this season.

“He’s got a good arm,” noted Schneider. “We had four outs on the bases, thanks to his outstanding defensive plays.”

Following his stellar performance, Barger reflected on his dedication to honing his throwing skills over the years, emphasizing the importance of a strong arm in baseball.

The Blue Jays’ victory was also marked by the giveaway of team bomber jackets to fans, creating a memorable experience at Rogers Centre.

Overall, Barger’s precision and arm strength were instrumental in the team’s success, making him a valuable asset on the field.
