Virgin Atlantic’s Bengaluru service crosses 140,000 passenger milestone, BA

Virgin Atlantic has marked the first anniversary of its direct daily service between London Heathrow and Bengaluru, a route that has contributed to strengthening air links between the UK and India’s tech capital. Since its launch on March 31, 2024, the service has carried more than 140,000 passengers, underlining the growing demand for non-stop connectivity between the two cities.
The airline’s Bengaluru connection has provided business travellers, leisure tourists, and students with improved access to and from the UK, while also supporting international trade through cargo services. The route plays a key role in transporting goods such as fashion, pharmaceuticals, and technology between the UK, the US, and India, highlighting the route’s broader economic relevance.
Shivani Singh Deo, India Country Manager at Virgin Atlantic, said: “We are thrilled to celebrate the first anniversary of our Bengaluru service, which has been a tremendous success. This route has not only strengthened connectivity between India and both the UK and the US but has also played a key role in facilitating business, tourism, and cultural exchange between these nations. The positive response from our customers reaffirms our commitment to the Indian market, and we look forward to further enhancing travel experiences with seamless connectivity, exceptional service, and expanded offerings in the years to come.”Virgin Atlantic’s service to Bengaluru is part of the airline’s broader strategy to deepen its presence in India and meet demand across business and leisure segments. As the airline looks to the future, expanding routes and customer offerings remain a core part of its long-term India strategy.
