The Duskbloods is a PvPvE game that seems to have more in common with online shooters than it does Bloodborne

The Duskbloods was a surprising announcement in the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. Initially thought to be a spiritual successor to Bloodborne, it has since been revealed to be a multiplayer game with a unique twist.

The Duskbloods is not Bloodborne 2. It offers a different experience from the traditional single-player games FromSoftware is known for.

In a recent interview with game director Hidetaka Miyazaki, more details about The Duskbloods were revealed. The game started as a Switch title before shifting development to the Switch 2.

Unlike FromSoftware’s previous games, The Duskbloods focuses on online multiplayer. The game introduces a new concept where players compete for power as the Bloodsworn.

The game’s format is similar to battle royale games, with eight players spawning in a hub area to prepare for matches. Players can choose classes, customize characters, and engage in combat across various maps.

Players aim to be the last one standing and earn Victory Points through combat or strategic gameplay. The game also introduces special events and objectives to keep gameplay dynamic.

The Duskbloods offers a variety of roles for players to customize, adding depth to the gameplay experience. With a unique approach to multiplayer, the game is set to be a Switch 2 exclusive in 2026.
