Florida girl allegedly killed by her estranged ex-boyfriend two weeks after 16th birthday

A Florida girl was reportedly stabbed by her ex-boyfriend in a brutal attack and left for dead in a nature preserve just two weeks after turning 16.

The body of Abbriella Elliott was discovered by a hiker at the Cypress Lakes Preserve Trailhead in Hernando County on March 27.

Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhui mentioned that a witness saw Elliott leaving her house at around 1 a.m. on the day of her death, possibly to meet the person responsible for her murder.

Abbriella Elliott was allegedly stabbed by her ex-boyfriend in a “very violent” attack and left for dead in a nature preserve two weeks after celebrating her 16th birthday. GoFundMe

Nienhuis stated that the killing involved a lot of passion and violence, indicating it was not a random act but a targeted attack. The teenager was likely killed with an “edged weapon.”

Cameron Cubel, 16, was arrested on first-degree murder charges in connection to Elliott’s death. The victim knew her alleged killer, identified as her ex-boyfriend by Elliott’s parents.

Elliott’s mother described her as always smiling, singing, and acting goofy, with a GoFundMe page set up to help with funeral expenses.

At a prayer vigil for Elliot, her stepfather noted she would have been pleased with the turnout, as she had a light that brightened everyone’s spirits.
