Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s Nightmares and Visions update adds in a sprinkle of Left 4 Dead, and you can try it out now
Looking to add a touch of Left 4 Dead to your Warhammer 40,000: Darktide experience? Well, you’re in luck because the Nightmare and Visions update has just been released, introducing Mortis Trials, a new wave-based game mode. In this mode, you’ll face hordes of enemies in successive rounds, earning Indulgences that allow you to unlock upgrades for future runs.
Players will begin with an archetype that grants elemental damage abilities such as electricity or fire, along with increased damage against electrified or burning foes. Another archetype focuses on faster weapon switching and reloading, with additional buffs available as you progress through the waves. Objective waves occur on the 3rd, 6th, and 9th rounds, adding variety to the gameplay experience.

Fatshark, the game’s developer, recently published the detailed patch notes for the latest update. While the list of changes is extensive, some notable highlights include the introduction of campaigns for the Havoc class, featuring different mutators and missions. Additionally, quality of life improvements such as DLSS 4 support and weapon balance adjustments have been implemented.
For those interested, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is currently available at a 50% discount on Steam. This promotion coincides with the release of the new update, making it an ideal time to jump into the action.
