Empyreal looks like a stunning new indie action-RPG

There is a noticeable trend towards larger and more ambitious indie RPGs currently, pushing the boundaries of what we typically expect from the indie gaming scene. Following the success of Eternal Strands, Empyreal is set to launch on May 8th. The team at Silent Games is excited to give players an early look at the game, providing insight into the world and various systems through a new overview trailer.
In the seven-minute Game Overview video, creative director Joseph Rogers delves into the game’s core mechanics and storyline. Players can discover the intricate narratives, character customization options, and the impact of the mysterious Cartograms on their journey into the Monolith.
Empyreal is described as an action-packed RPG where players explore a daunting Monolith and battle against its guardians to survive. Players will unravel a complex narrative that blends mythology, philosophy, and profound revelations as they lead an Expedition deeper into the structure to uncover its truth. A demo is already available to PC players on Steam for those eager to experience the game early!
The key features of Empyreal include a unique and intricate combat system, a diverse cast of characters with personal questlines and multiple endings for each, and a stunning yet fractured ancient world filled with hidden treasures. Players can customize their character with a wide range of equipment, collect armor sets with powerful bonuses, and upgrade and modify their loot. Additionally, players can unlock new abilities to tailor their playstyle.
The visuals are stunning, and there is much more to explore. Empyreal will be available on May 8th for PC via Steam, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is priced at £24.99/$29.99/€29.99, with a 10% launch discount on Steam.
