Post-apocalyptic Scandinavia game Vessels of Decay launches in 2025

Publisher Headup Games and co-developers Simon Jakobsson and Aurora Punks announced a release window for Vessels of Decay, their retro-inspired action-adventure set in post-apocalyptic Scandinavia.

Vessels of Decay is set to launch sometime later in 2025 for Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5. A playtest for the game is planned – you can request access on its Steam page.

Civilization has ended, and something else awakens in its place. From the world’s decay, ancient creatures stir, rise, and roam the land.

Vessels of Decay is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure following the story of Freja and Mud. In this retro-inspired tale, you’ll confront creatures of Scandinavian myth and folklore, and explore the ruins of the civilization they inhabit.
