Nintendo reveals the exact time of its upcoming Switch 2 direct, so you can set your Alarmo up to remind you with the sound of Pikmin drowning

It’s time for the Nintendo Switch 2 headlines, with analysts estimating the possible price of the console. While the experts believe that the price won’t affect Nintendo’s ability to sell a large number of units early on, it’s still an important factor to consider.

This news comes as we approach the upcoming Switch Direct event, building up the excitement for the release – although the exact launch date is still unknown.

Bloomberg has spoken to analysts to gauge their expectations for the Switch 2 launch. The overall consensus seems to be very positive, with expectations of a successful launch.

As for the price, analysts predict it to be $400 or more, with some variation in opinions. While some believe it could go as high as $499, others think it might be slightly lower. However, all agree that there will be a significant increase from the original Switch’s price of $299.

Despite the potential price increase, analysts like Robin Zhu of Sanford C. Bernstein remain optimistic about the launch. They predict a June release with 6 to 8 million units available on day one, possibly making it the biggest console launch ever.

According to Dr. Serkan Toto from Kantan Games, the high price won’t deter consumers, especially with an exciting software lineup expected in the first year, including new Mario and Pokémon titles, as well as third-party blockbusters like Call of Duty.

Dr. Toto also suggests that the trend of $70 pricing for games will continue, at least for Nintendo’s own titles and major third-party games.

Exciting times ahead for Nintendo, as they gear up for the Switch 2 launch. Are you willing to pay the speculated prices for the new console? Share your thoughts below!
