Teardown is getting a multiplayer update, so you can rough up innocent walls with your best friends

Teardown is a visually captivating game with its fully destructible voxel environments. It brings back memories of old Flash games where you could interact with simple creatures and objects, testing the limits of destruction.

Playing around in Teardown is even more enjoyable with friends, and now developer Tuxedo Labs has announced an upcoming multiplayer update for the sandbox game.

According to a press release, the multiplayer update will offer campaign co-op, competitive, and sandbox modes, making it the game’s “largest update” yet. The Teardown subreddit has shown high demand for multiplayer features, with a multiplayer mod released in the past. This official update will surely be welcomed by the community.

The multiplayer update will initially launch on the game’s Experimental Branch on Steam, with the development team seeking feedback. Modders will also have the opportunity to update existing mods for multiplayer compatibility, as Teardown’s API will receive additions around the same time.

While there is no specific release date for the multiplayer update, the promise is that it will arrive “later this year.” Teardown has been on many players’ radar since its release, and the prospect of causing chaos with friends sounds enticing.
