Seven Adani Airports achieve over 6.8 Million DigiYatra transactions since August 2023, ET TravelWorld

Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) has successfully expanded its DigiYatra initiative by integrating Mangaluru International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram International Airport into the programme. With this addition, all seven operational airports under AAHL now offer passengers the convenience of DigiYatra, a key step towards enhancing the passenger experience with seamless and contactless travel.

Since its inception in August 2023, DigiYatra has witnessed significant adoption across AAHL airports. The initiative has shown a remarkable month-on-month growth of 14 per cent in transactions over the past nine months. The usage of DigiYatra across these airports ranges between 25 per cent to 30 per cent of total passengers, with some airports, such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai, seeing up to 37.1 per cent of passengers using the service on a single day.

Jeet Adani, Director of AAHL, commented, “Since DigiYatra’s launch on 15 August 2023, we have rolled out the service at five of our airports, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Guwahati. Expanding this service to Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram underscores our commitment to adopting innovative technologies that enhance both convenience and security for passengers. With increased adoption across our airports, passengers are now experiencing faster and smoother travel processes.”

DigiYatra leverages facial recognition technology to offer a paperless and efficient journey through the airport. It ensures quick entry at various checkpoints, reducing wait times and promoting ecological sustainability by eliminating the need for physical documents. The system also enhances security by verifying passenger identity through biometric data, reinforcing passenger privacy and safety.
