Nacon and ACE Team, the creators of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos and Zeno Clash, have announced The Mount: Omen of Cthulhu, a first-person horror game with up to four-player online co-op. The Mount: Omen of Cthulhu is set to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025.

Players take on the roles of conquistadors exploring an underground city in a mysterious jungle. What begins as a quest for treasure quickly becomes a battle for survival as Lovecraftian horrors twist perception and threaten sanity. Players may experience auditory hallucinations, visual distortions, and other mind-bending phenomena, making teamwork essential for navigating the jungle and escaping with their lives.

Armed only with swords, lanterns, axes, and muskets, the conquistadors are ill-equipped to face the supernatural threats they encounter. Communication through voice chat will be crucial for coordinating tactics and surviving the horrors of the jungle.

This marks a significant departure for ACE Team, known for their previous work on Zeno Clash and Clash: Artifacts of Chaos. While their past projects have focused on brawling and puzzle-solving, The Mount: Omen of Cthulhu represents a new direction for the studio, blending survival horror with cooperative gameplay.

Early gameplay footage showcases the game’s eerie atmosphere and shifting environments, promising a unique and immersive experience for players. Fans of co-op horror games like Phasmophobia and The Outlast Trials will likely find The Mount: Omen of Cthulhu to be a compelling addition to the genre.
