Tripwire Interactive has announced that Killing Floor 3 has been delayed until later in 2025, just days before its expected launch on 25th March. The delay does not come with a new release date, but pre-orders will be refunded automatically on Epic, Xbox, and PS5 platforms. US-based PS5 pre-orders will be prompted to choose a refund method, while Steam pre-orders can be canceled manually. More details can be found here.

According to the team, feedback from the recent closed beta led to the decision to delay the game in order to address common issues such as performance, UI/UX, lighting, and weapon feel. The goal is to make Killing Floor 3 an ambitious step forward for the franchise while maintaining the core experience that players love. Updates, including the ability to independently select perk class and character, are planned for post-release.

The game takes place 70 years after Killing Floor 2, with players joining the group Nightfall to fight against a new army of Zeds from the megacorp Horzine. The gameplay revolves around 6-player co-op battles against waves of Zeds, with six Specialist character classes and a variety of upgradable weapons to choose from. The M.E.A.T. System returns to provide a visceral experience with increased gore.

Our hands-on experience with the Killing Floor 3 beta test revealed that the game is building upon the established formula with modern features like cover mantling and improved mobility. While it may not reinvent the horde shooter genre, it offers enough advancements to keep players engaged.
