Lego Mario Kart captures the magic of Mario way better than the rest of Mario’s brick-built adventures so far

Lego’s latest game tie-in, Lego Mario Kart, quietly launched earlier this year and may be one of their best yet. Unlike other Mario sets, Mario Kart captures the essence of the game in a more visually appealing way. The vehicles are compatible with the electronic figures from the Lego Super Mario line, but there’s something special about these builds that just clicks.

The design of Mario Kart translates well to Lego, with each set resembling classic Mario Kart vehicles and characters. From Yoshi riding a bike to Donkey Kong in a barrel car, each build is evocative of the games. The sets also include fun details like stud shooter ‘guns’ with Koopa Shell ammo, banana peels, and even a recreation of Lakitu on his cloud.

These sets have the potential to spark creativity in kids, allowing them to create their own tracks and carts. The electronic figures add another layer of interactivity, reacting to the racing movements of the carts. Overall, Lego Mario Kart captures the essence of both Lego and Mario in a way that the previous Lego Mario sets have not.

While Lego Mario Kart is a hit, fans are still eagerly awaiting more sets based on the Legend of Zelda series.

How about adding an Arwing to the Lego collection? We all know you want to see it happen. Let’s make it happen, Lego!
