Oscars 2025: Air Time, Nominations and How to Watch

The Oscars are the most prestigious awards in the film industry, attracting A-list celebrities to the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre. This year’s Academy Awards will be held this weekend, with Emilia Pérez leading the nominations with 13 nods, followed by The Brutalist and Wicked with 10 nominations each.

What time do the 2025 Oscars air?

The 2025 Academy Awards will take place at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on Sunday 2 March 2025. Here are the airing times:

  • 4pm PT (West Coast US)

  • 7pm ET (East Coast US)

  • 12am GMT – Sunday, 2 March (UK)

The show is expected to last around 3½ hours and will be broadcast on television worldwide.

Which channel is the Oscars on?

In the US, the Oscars will be broadcast on ABC.

In the UK, you can watch the Oscars show on ITV1.

For those who prefer not to stay up late, a highlights package of the ceremony will be aired on ITV1 at 10.45pm GMT on Monday 3 March.

How to watch the Oscars online

US viewers who won’t be near a television have the option to stream the entire show live on Hulu or through the ABC app. Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV, and FuboTV will also be streaming the Oscars.

UK viewers can stream the show on ITVX, which will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes content and sneak peeks from the ceremony.

What are the red carpet shows?

In the US, ABC will air several pre-Oscar shows throughout the day:

  • On the Red Carpet at the Oscars – streaming on ABC and ABC News Live

  • The Oscars Red Carpet Show – 3:30pm PT / 6:30 p.m. ET (hosted by Jesse Palmer)

Additionally, E! will broadcast the following programs:

  • Life From E!: Countdown to the Oscars – 2pm ET / 11am PT

  • Live From E!: The Oscars – 4pm ET / 1pm PT

  • Red Carpet Rundown: Oscars – 6:30pm ET / 3:30pm PT

In the UK, ITV will provide red carpet coverage and celebrity interviews to get you in the Oscars spirit. The pre-Oscar program schedule is as follows:

  • Red-carpet coverage streaming on ITV – 10:30pm GMT (hosted by Jonathan Ross)

  • The Oscars, pre-show available on ITV1 and ITVX – 10:15pm GMT (hosted by Ross King)
