ANA group orders 15 E190-E2 aircraft from Embraer, marks first E2 deal in Japan, ET TravelWorld

ANA Holdings Inc. has finalised an order for 15 E190-E2 aircraft from Embraer, with options for an additional five aircraft. This deal forms part of ANA’s ongoing fleet renewal plan and underscores the airline’s commitment to improving national connectivity while enhancing the passenger experience. The deliveries of the E190-E2 aircraft are expected to begin in 2028, marking Embraer’s first E2 deal in Japan.

Embraer’s Chief Commercial Officer, Martyn Holmes, expressed his excitement about the deal, stating, “We are honoured that Embraer’s E190-E2 small narrowbody aircraft will join ANA’s fleet and we look forward to the delivery of the first aircraft in 2028.” He highlighted the aircraft’s superior fuel efficiency, quiet operation, and the comfort it offers passengers, particularly with its spacious cabin and absence of middle seats.

The E190-E2, the next-generation model in Embraer’s E-Jet family, is designed to offer superior operational efficiency and sustainability. With its advanced aerodynamics, new wing design, and cutting-edge technologies, the E190-E2 delivers a 25 per cent reduction in fuel burn and carbon emissions compared to its predecessor. The aircraft is also capable of flying with up to 50 per cent sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blends and has demonstrated engine operability with 100 per cent SAF, underscoring Embraer’s commitment to reducing emissions and advancing sustainable aviation practices.

Since 2009, Embraer’s E-Jets have operated in Japan, and the E190-E2 will be the first of the new generation of aircraft in the country. With over 1,800 E-Jets delivered to more than 80 airlines worldwide, the programme has become one of the most successful in commercial aviation history. Embraer continues to drive forward with its mission to help airlines meet their sustainability goals while offering advanced, comfortable, and efficient aircraft.
