The Sims 4’s Businesses & Hobbies expansion pack will let open your own business and tattoo your Sims

Engage in what you are passionate about, and work will feel more like a hobby than a chore. This sentiment rings true for many, including games journalists who face unemployment. However, The Sims 4’s upcoming expansion, Businesses & Hobbies, blurs the line between passion and career, offering Sims the opportunity to open a tattoo parlour, pottery studio, or even a cat café with the right complementary expansion pack.

Expansion packs in The Sims series are known for adding new content and mechanics, and Businesses & Hobbies is no exception. Players can create businesses that offer various services, set pricing, hire staff, and designate staff-only areas within their shops.

The expansion introduces detailed new skills such as tattooing, allowing players to design custom tattoos for their Sims. To ensure customer satisfaction, Sims must improve their skills over time and can even learn from experienced mentors in the field.

In addition to the new gameplay features, Businesses & Hobbies includes two new cities, one of which draws inspiration from Copenhagen, known as “Nordhaven.” These cities reflect a Northern European aesthetic where owning a small business or pursuing a creative career is realistic.

While cat cafés are mentioned as a potential business venture, they are only accessible with the Cats And Dogs expansion. Other complementary expansions like Get Famous, Spa Day, and Laundry Day allow players to open an acting school, spa, or laundromat, respectively.
