Microsoft Erases “Edge uninstall” page following user backlash

After facing backlash from users, Microsoft has removed the “Edge uninstall” document that was found to contain only promotional text for the browser, as reported by Tech Radar. The document, which lacked instructions on how to uninstall Edge, has been swiftly taken down by Microsoft.
Upon viewing the document, users discovered it only contained information promoting Edge over Chrome, without any guidance on removal. Currently, the site directs users to Microsoft’s Edge portal with a prominent button to try Edge at the top. European users have the option to uninstall Edge, but others are unable to do so due to certain operating system dependencies on Edge’s code, according to Microsoft.
While the Edge browser boasts impressive features and has been recognized as one of the best browsers, the misleading nature of the document has frustrated many users. Microsoft has not issued an official statement regarding the removal of the document, and it is uncertain if they will address it.
This situation can be seen as a bait-and-switch tactic, where users were promised one thing but encountered something different. Microsoft has a history of aggressively promoting Edge, such as using full-screen pop-ups to persuade users to switch browsers. It remains to be seen what approach they will take next.
