Oppo Find N5 Photo Suggests the Foldable Crease is Gone

The Oppo Find N5 could potentially eliminate the annoying foldable display crease once and for all, based on a recent official photo.

Today has been filled with discussions about advancements in foldable phones, with the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate promising a pocketable tablet and the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 aiming to solve previous foldable issues like poor battery life.

The Oppo Find N5 is set to address another common foldable problem: the display crease.

The crease problem

Every foldable device released so far has featured some form of visible crease on the main screen. However, the Oppo Find N5 appears to be different, at least from the initial images.

Oppo’s Chief Product Officer Pete Lau recently shared a striking new image of the upcoming Oppo Find N5, showcasing it next to a competitor, likely a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold model. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 may also have a similar feature.

In the photo, the competitor’s display crease is clearly visible, while the Oppo Find N5’s screen appears to be crease-free. Lau even stated, “No crease detected,” although there may be a slight crease visible under certain lighting conditions.

Once the Oppo Find N5 is in use, the crease may become even less noticeable.

What else do we know about the Oppo Find N5?

This image suggests that the Oppo Find N5 is likely to be a large foldable device, especially in terms of its display size. Despite its size, it is expected to be quite thin when open, potentially thinner than the Honor Magic V3.

Although thin, Oppo has confirmed that the Find N5 will be IPX9 water-resistant and support 50W wireless charging. The device is also expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a large 5600mAh battery.

Oppo has announced that the Find N5 will be revealed in two weeks, hinting at a possible announcement on February 19 or 20. The device may also make an appearance at MWC 2025 in Barcelona.
