Inside the Kennedy family latest turmoil

Last April, over 50 members of the Kennedy family gathered to celebrate the 96th birthday of matriarch Ethel Kennedy. They posed for a photo in her living room, capturing a moment of togetherness.

However, with Ethel’s passing in October and the recent discord within the family during Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Senate hearings, the image now stands as a poignant reminder of the fading era of Camelot.

The concept of Camelot, synonymous with the iconic Irish-American Democratic dynasty and the presidency of John F. Kennedy, has been under strain for some time. Just days after the birthday celebration, six of Ethel’s children publicly criticized Bobby’s presidential campaign, endorsing Joe Biden instead.

Renowned author Laurence Leamer remarked, “What we’re seeing is the self-destruction of the Kennedy family. For three generations, they presented a united front against the world, but that unity has now fractured.”

Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, daughter of John F. Kennedy, further escalated tensions by publicly denouncing her cousin Bobby on the eve of his confirmation hearings for Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Caroline’s scathing letter, supported by her son Jack Schlossberg, triggered a public feud within the family. Their actions were met with criticism for deviating from the traditional Kennedy values of unity and respect.

The longstanding internal conflicts within the Kennedy family, dating back to the era of Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Ethel Skakel, have resurfaced in recent years. Past grievances and disagreements have now come to the forefront, tarnishing the family’s once-glamorous image.

The family rift has deepened over various issues, including Bobby’s controversial statements and actions. The Kennedy legacy, once revered as America’s royal family, is now marred by public disputes and personal attacks.

The Kennedy family’s decline reflects a broader shift in public perception, with the once-glorified Camelot era giving way to internal strife and discord. The family’s legacy, once a symbol of unity and strength, now faces a turbulent future.
