The RGG Like a Dragon Direct provided an extensive preview of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii gameplay, showcasing the game’s various features such as locations, combat systems (on land and at sea), crew building, and more. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is set to release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on 21st February 2025.

Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii focuses on the eccentric Goro Majima, who takes center stage in this new spin-off. Stranded near Hawaii, Goro embarks on a wild adventure involving pirate battles, crew recruitment, and ship-to-ship combat.

On land, Goro can utilize various combat styles in battles, resembling a musou game. The Mad Dog style, reminiscent of the classic Yakuza series, emphasizes fast-paced combat with fists and short swords, agility, dodging, aerial attacks, and powerful moves like summoning shadowy doppelgangers.

Sea Dog style, on the other hand, involves dual-wielding short swords, grapple hooks, muskets, and unique weapons. Players can unleash special attacks using musical instruments to summon Dark Gods with bizarre curses. The gameplay is filled with crazy and entertaining elements.

At sea, players can customize their grand galleon and recruit a crew to operate it. Crew members can be trained, bond through various activities, and enhance the ship’s capabilities with powerful weapons like cannons, rocket launchers, and more. Strategic crew placement is essential for maximizing attack and defense stats.

Aside from combat, players can visit Rich Island, where Goro teams up with Noah Rish and a tiger cub. This serves as a base for rest, resupplying, and interacting with animal companions.

Players can also explore other islands like Madlantis, a hub for minigames and challenges, Nele Island, where ex-Yakuza reside to clean up nuclear waste, and Hawaii itself, featured in the Infinite Wealth scenario.

The game promises a vast and absurdly entertaining experience, eagerly anticipated for its upcoming release!
