Passenger bus crash with truck on Brazil highway kills 22

A tragic incident occurred on a highway in Minas Gerais, Brazil on December 21, 2024, resulting in the loss of 22 lives in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck. The local fire department swiftly responded to the scene, with 13 individuals being rushed to nearby hospitals in Teofilo Otoni for medical treatment.

Reports indicate that the bus, carrying 45 passengers and originating from Sao Paulo, suffered a blowout which led to the driver losing control and crashing into a truck. Additionally, a car with three occupants also became involved in the collision, although fortunately, all three occupants survived, as confirmed by the fire department.

Efforts are currently underway at the accident site, with rescue teams diligently working to extract remaining victims, as stated by Lt. Alonso of the fire department.
