The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai continued its strong performance in November 2024, registering substantial growth in both passenger traffic and air traffic movements. The airport welcomed 4.77 million passengers during the month, comprising 3.40 million domestic and 1.37 million international travellers.

In terms of air traffic movements (ATMs), the Mumbai Airport handled a total of 27,200 flights, including 19,696 domestic movements (which also accounted for freighters) and 7,504 international movements. November 27, 2024, marked the airport’s busiest day of the month, with an impressive 941 flights operating in a single day, driven by the growing demand for travel during the festive season.

Domestic traffic was led by popular routes to Delhi, Bangalore, and Goa, which catered to both business and leisure travellers. On the international front, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and London emerged as the top destinations, continuing to serve as primary travel hubs for passengers flying internationally from Mumbai.

“The increased passenger traffic at CSMIA is a testament to the airport’s expanding network and its ability to efficiently manage high volumes of travel while providing high-quality services to its passengers. With a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction, CSMIA remains well-positioned as a leading global aviation hub,” the airport said in a statement.

The airport also handled a remarkable 71,046 MT of cargo, comprising 18,653 MT of domestic shipments and 52,393 MT of international consignments.
