Fan who paid for second plane wanted to 'embarrass' Giants owners into change

The first plane, flown over MetLife Stadium last Sunday, urged Giants owner John Mara to “PLZ Fix This Dumpster Fire.”

The second one, crossing over the roof of Big Blue’s home venue pregame, carried a banner that emphasized to Mara, “We Won’t Stop Until You Fire Everyone.”

Two different sponsors were behind the planes, with the second sponsor remaining anonymous and going by the name “Miguel” during an interview with NJ.com.

“The biggest thing that the Mara family prides itself on is pride in themselves,” said Miguel, who wanted to embarrass the Giants’ owners to force them to take action.

It seems like a similar protest could happen again when the Giants play against the Colts in two weeks to close out their home schedule.

The man who organized the second plane revealed that he coordinated everything during the Giants’ bye week and decided to piggyback off a separate group’s flight with a different message.

Initially, the message was supposed to be “Fire Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll,” but it had to be adjusted due to restrictions.

Fans reached a breaking point after another disappointing season following a 6-11 year last season and a 2-11 start this season.

Despite Giants co-owner John Mara stating no anticipated changes with Daboll and Schoen, fans are trying to push for a reboot.

“The main message is we’re not close,” said the second plane man on the “Talkin’ Giants” podcast. “This regime has consistently underperformed.”
