The display set a Guinness World Record for the largest aerial display of a gingerbread village using multirotor drones, with 4,981 drones coming together in perfect synchronization to create the holiday scene.

While the record may seem niche, Sky Elements previously achieved similar feats, such as forming the largest aerial display of a fictional character and a massive Christmas tree using drones.

Preston Ward, chief pilot of Sky Elements, expressed his joy over the successful display, emphasizing how it brought holiday cheer in a unique way, while Uvify executive Robert Cheek praised the team’s innovation and dedication.

These drone displays are orchestrated using specialized software that directs the drones to form specific shapes and patterns as they fly through the sky.

Companies worldwide are offering drone display services, with High Great from China recently setting a new record by using 8,100 drones for a spectacular show.

Drone displays are gaining popularity as an eco-friendly alternative to fireworks, although challenges like weather conditions and technical issues can still impact the success of these modern displays.
