6 spring 2025 denim trends worth shopping, according to an expert

Spring is the ideal time to refresh your denim wardrobe, but with so many silhouettes and washes in the mix, it can be hard to know where to start — or figure out what works best for your body type and personal style, for that matter.

“I always tell my clients that trying on jeans is almost as bad as trying on swimwear,” Bloomingdale’s personal shopper Stacey Oliver (@ShopWithStacey) tells Page Six Style, adding that comparison shopping is key to finding the right fit.

“Coming into the store, having someone like me — a personal shopper who knows exactly what’s going to work for you — it will alleviate so much [of the] stress of trying on 100 pairs of jeans.”

Below, discover all the spring 2025 denim trends that are currently on Oliver’s radar. And if you’d like to book a free session with a stylist either in-store or virtually, check out Bloomingdale’s Styling Services.

Wide-leg jeans

Skinnies not your style? Don’t worry: Wide-leg denim’s not going anywhere. And while low-slung and slouchy silhouettes are particularly trendy this season, Oliver’s partial to pairs with a slightly higher rise.

“If you’re not quite into the baggy [look], this keeps you still on trend,” she says.

“The fabric is really lightweight and soft,” Oliver says of this easy, breezy option — and unlike Rag & Bone’s viral sweatpant jeans, they have a “true finished front” with a zipper and button closure, so they’re a bit more polished.

Flared jeans

If Kendrick Lamar’s viral Super Bowl halftime blues weren’t enough to convince you, flared jeans are back in a big way. But forget about exaggerated ’70s bell-bottoms and the dangerously low-rise bootcut pairs of the early aughts; this time around, the silhouette’s subtler, not to mention incredibly flattering.

“They really snatch everything up top and then give you that longer-legged look,” Oliver says.

“These jeans come in different denim washes, but the black option is a versatile addition to any wardrobe,” Oliver suggests.

Cuffed jeans

Wide-leg jeans with a single cuff are a trendy choice right now. Oliver mentions that they can be styled casually with a T-shirt and sneakers or dressed up with flats and a blazer for the office.
