4 Reasons Gay Couples Should Travel to Asia

We are gay couple Stefan and Sebastien and have been traveling in Asia for almost 2 years.
Asia is not the most LGBTQ+ friendly destination in the world, with many countries criminalizing homosexuality.
So should gay couples travel to Asia? Yes, and here’s why.
Why Gay Couples Should Travel to Asia

We were initially hesitant about traveling there but quickly realized that all LGBTQ+ couples should visit Asia, not only for its beauty but also for the positive impact on local LGBTQ+ communities.
Here’s our 4 reasons why we think gay couples should travel to Asia.

1. It is just as safe for gay couples as it is for straight
While being gay is still a criminal offense in some Asian countries, as foreigners, we never felt threatened or in danger for being gay during our travels.
Tourism is a significant industry, so foreigners are often treated differently from locals despite anti-LGBTQ+ laws.
2. There are many fun gay places to visit

From Thailand to Japan, there are vibrant gay scenes and welcoming communities for LGBTQ+ travelers in Asia.
3. Asia is slowly waking up to gay unions

While gay marriage is still illegal in most Asian countries, progress is being made towards recognizing civil unions and equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community.
4. Supporting and inspiring the local LGBT communities

By visiting Asia as a gay couple, you can support and inspire local LGBTQ+ communities, helping them thrive in sometimes challenging environments.
So go on and book your flight to Delhi, Bangkok Colombo etc
Supporting LGBTQ+ owned businesses and engaging with local communities can have a more positive impact than boycotting, helping promote equality and acceptance.
